Pretty much what I get to see all day!

Bah! Humbug!

Yeah that's just me feeling sorry for myself.....plus I'm watching Nottinghill and it's the part where Hugh Grant goes up to Julia's hotel room and Alec Baldwin is there....and Hugh says good-bye.....

Spent 3 hours tonight talking about politics and religion with 3 of the 6 people up here in this ghost town.

The youngest in that group is the most opinionated and thinks he knows everything about everything....so there were a few tense moments.

Made friends with a good guy named Conrad who is the medic....he is fun and has a great sense of humor. Conversation touched on religion and the purpose of life....and that was a nice unexpected missionary moment.

Most of the camp will be back in a few days....I get to eat turkey dinner later today...so Christmas won't be a total loss.

Already Christmas Day evening in Korea....called and talked with Jaiden who got a huge Lego set....
Jordan was released from the hospital Christmas Day and is sleeping....so I'll call him later.
So pretty much the crummiest Christmas ever for our family....but next year will be much better for sure.

Although I tried my best over the years..the boys confronted me a while back with the fact that they know I am Santa Clause.....seriously a sad moment for me...cause I went to extreme lengths to keep up the facade.
At the same time I was relieved because I have always felt that so much time (and money) is spent on Chritmas presents and such.
Although not one of the more commonly used scriptures at Christmas time this one came to mind:

7For the things which some men esteem to be of great worth, both to the body and soul, others set at naught and trample under their feet. Yea, even the very God of Israel do men trample under their feet; I say, trample under their feet but I would speak in other words—they set him at naught, and hearken not to the voice of his counsels.

I guess the point is: That amidst the presents, money, food and other treats we enjoy at Christmas time -we shouldn't set at naught HE whose birth we should be celebrating and should renew our commitment to hearken to and serve him.

Once again: Have a safe and Merry Christmas! Or Happy Holidays!
