Explanation

Well, now that I've advertised it I guess I'd better deliver.
I was offered the chance to help out a friend who is involved in the Oil and Gas industry in the wilds of Northern Canada.

Now, you need to know something....NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is going to seperate me and my two boys (other than their missions). UNLESS it's a call to help out a friend and make really big bucks while eating 5 star gourmet food (all you can eat).

So, now you know where I am.

Just getting here was an adventure- driving through blizzards on bush roads.

Once here I was introduced to Lonnie. He is a really sweet recovering addict.... recovered I hope since he is my loader operator. It's weird to be giving him orders since he's almost 60.
Like I said he's a sweet old guy who is not affraid to throw down the F-Bomb. He volunteer counsels recovering addicts and I kid you not he looks a bit and sounds exactly like President Boyd K Packer of the twelve. We share a trailer here in the "yard" which is a 200x300 foot cleared area that they put me in charge of. Our trailer is quite deluxe: we both have our own unit which consists of a kitchen/living room, 2 TVs (like I don't have enough trouble watching 1) huge bed and private bathroom. He gave me the unit with the jacuzzi tub....but he has good internet connection while mine is low- very low....so not sure who got the better end of that deal.
There is a camp up the road where most of the other people stay (sharing 4 bathrooms...yikes)...
That is also where we drive 2 minutes to eat our meals....example of meals include: Chicken cacciatore, Beef stroganoff, Steak and king crab's legs....it's like that every day. I skipped dinner last night and breakfast today because I can feel myself getting bigger every meal....the lady just heaps it on higher and higher. And I thought I would be going on a diet here.....wish me luck. Plus all you can eat pastries and chocolate bars.....and my favorite- Root Beer.

So the conditions inside my trailer and my tummy are ideal...but outside it's a different story. Snows pretty much 20 hours a day, sunlight from 9 until 3ish. the temperature averages - 13' C....Fahrenheit = COLD.

I will be here until sometime in March....
No family
No Temple
No Church -just found out today I need another elder in order to bless sacrament....guess I'll need to baptize Lonnie....he already said " Not today".

Not sure if this will lead into something permanent here in Canada or the States...but I'm getting a bit tired of Korea and the boys want to come back this way.....so I guess we'll see.

I'm sure I'll have lots of fun stories so check back once in a while.
