Ok...after a week up in camp, which usually has a population of 100 max, I now live in a ghost town. You see.. the oil rigs are shut down for a week during Christmas and initially I would have had to go back to civilization and spend some serious green to spend a lonely Christmas at a hotel. BUT they needed someone to stay up here and so now I get to spend a lonely Christmas right here.
There are about 4 people scattered around camp and then there is me...about a mile away, in my trailer....OH LONNIE...How could you leave me?
I'm not totally alone...there is a cute coyote who is still too shy to come close to the yard. There are also a few ravens = really huge crows that eat anything.... so I have to watch my back.
I followed Lonnie into the closest city (Slave Lake) yesterday, where I did some banking and shopping but had to find my way back here in the dark for 3 hours...that was a challenge.
And now here I sit watching Bride Wars....getting in touch with my feminine side while the tough guys are all away.
Missing my boys....wondering how they will have a Merry Christmas without me...and malfunctioning MSN messenger isn't helping.
Hope everyone who reads this has a safe and Merry Christmas.....
More to come later
Poor Marty!! Although, I think there is something very serene and peaceful about your situation that is appealing. Lots of time to be one with God, not a bad thing I'd say. Hope you have a good Christmas at least- no frostbite, no bear attacks, etc....and know that others are thinking of you! :)
